It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that Catina Bernardis, consultant plastic surgeon at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, London passed away in December 2022.
Catina was well respected in her specialist field and known globally for her work in EB hand and SCC surgery. She was involved in the development of Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) for hand surgery and hand therapy, and cancer management, to help professionals understand how to treat someone with EB. A memorial service will be held on 28 February 2023.If anyone has any messages that they would like us to share with her family, please email them to office@debra-international.org. She is a great loss to her family, colleagues, and the global EB community. She will be missed.
