Organised by DEBRA Mexico, and held during the weekend of 11th and 12th February at the Hospital Ángeles Valle Oriente in the state of Monterrery, Nuevo León, the workshop was designed as a space to share, learn, and build a community about EB.
The workshop was held together with DEBRA Spain, the EB Without Borders team of DEBRA International, the Ángeles Valle Oriente Hospital, and the Promax Foundation. This workshop reflected the commitment of the international EB Community to work together to promote more support tools for the care of those with orphan diseases, and health and health equity. Together we will be able to build a more sustainable and just future!
The free workshop was held over two days and aimed at healthcare professionals - who have come into contact with, cared for, and diagnosed patients with EB - as well as at the EB Community, patients, and their families.
More than 30 families from all over Mexico attended listening to presentations from doctors and taking part in workshops with EB CNS, Esther Domínguez from DEBRA Spain. Information and training was given on treatments, materials, studies, and medical and research advances.
Access to information and medical specialists is the right of all patients, their families, and the entire healthcare community when they may find themselves treating someone with EB.
