Butterfly Summer 2024 was a week-long rehabilitation and educational retreat aimed at fostering community, offering medical and psychological support, and enhancing the quality of life for those affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). Organized by DEBRA Polska "Kruchy Dotyk", the event provided participants with essential therapies, workshops, and opportunities for social integration.
A Week of Growth and Connection
The event followed a structured yet flexible schedule, allowing participants to engage in a variety of therapeutic, educational, and social activities. Participants had the opportunity to connect, share their experiences, and provide mutual support, fostering a sense of belonging and solidarity within the EB community.
A series of workshops provided up-to-date information on EB treatment, advanced wound care techniques, and strategies for psychological well-being, empowering participants with crucial knowledge.
Beyond medical and educational support, Butterfly Summer 2024 emphasized relaxation and joy. Activities such as art therapy, seaside walks, and social gatherings helped participants unwind and build lasting friendships.

Thanks to DEBRA International's support, the event was able to welcome children with EB from Ukraine, providing them with much-needed care, connection, and respite. The opportunity to host individuals from a country affected by war proved invaluable, helping to build new relationships and offer essential support to those in need.
